Biography:

Raised in the small rural town of Penalosa, Ks, Dr. Moots (then Vicky DeLaRosa] received her undergraduate training at Hutchinson Community College and Steriing Coilege before going to Ft Worth, Texas to attend Texas college of Osteopathic Medicine in 1982, She was a non-traditional student however, as she had married her husband Larry Moots and had 4 children before attending coliege, 13 years after graduating from Cunningham High School. In spite of these odds, she maintained a 4.0 average through college and became the first woman to graduate as valedctorian in the history of that medical college!

Because of her ties to rural Kansas, she wanted to return to the same area to practice medicine through the Kansas Rural Health Scholarship program. Her family had been patients of the Donley's at Kingman, Ks. After talking to Dr. Lester Donley at a state Osteopathic meeting while she was an intern at Riverside Hospital, she made plans to practice in Kingman. She began practice with Dr. Donley in 1987 becoming the first woman doctor in Kingman. She has been active in the community since that time as the County Health Officer and Medical Director of EMS Kingman, Norwich and Cunningham, Medical Director of 5 Nursing Homes in Kingman, Cunningham, Pretty Prairie and Norwich. She has also served as the County Coroner. Though she no longer delivers babies Dr. Vicki continues to have an active hospital and office practice.

In her leisure: She volunteers as pastor of the Lerado Country church in Lerado. In addition her volunteer activities have included medical mission trips to the Dominican Republic for 14 years.

Her 4 children Aaron, Joel, Rachel and Naomi are all married now and have provided Dr. Moots and her husband with 7 grandchildren!
