KHC MEDICAL ACADEMY

WHAT IS IT?

The KHC Medical Academy is fun, week-long, hands-on, medical learning experience. During the 5 days, you will hang out with staff from various departments and learn how they care for patients. Not only will you learn from nurses and doctors, but you will also learn the behind-the-scenes of the medical business including medical records, patient registration, bio-medical, and others.
Some examples of hands-on activities:
learn how to put stitches in someone
prepare special food for a stroke patient
the process of scrubbing in for surgery
learn how respiratory therapy helps someone breathe
perform lab and radiology tests
take a patient's blood pressure
hazmat: how we prepare for a disaster
infection control: you just thought your hands were clean
exercise like you were a cardiac patient
what happens if medical equipment breaks down
AND SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH MORE!
